A solid gold Seamaster for less than £1,000!
 
This 1964 Omega Seamaster has a 9k solid gold case and case-back. The case is marked 375 (9k gold) on the underside of one lug. This is a Denninson case, one of the best case manufacturers in the UK. The case-back is fully marked Omega and hallmarked for gold on the underside. In general the case is highly presentable. The case-back shows few signs of wear and has a circular raised cartouche at the centre with Seamaster and the Hypocanthus. There is one significant scratch where someone has not used the correct tool to open the case.
 
The script on the dial has faded however if you rotate the watch to catch the light you can still see the words Omega and Automatic just below the applied golden Omega logo and Seamaster just above 6. In addition the dial has aged with a degree of even patina. Gold coloured hands with sweep seconds hand. Matching applied hour batons with black infil. Genuine Omega crown although not of Seamaster design. The acrylic has scratches.
 
Open the back and there is a very clean version of the Omega calibre 401 which runs really well, gaining about 15 seconds per day.
 
The watch is fitted with a used tan coloured non-Omega genuine leather strap.
