A superb real leather briefcase in excellent condition. Probably from the 1940s
The Milk Marketing Board was established in the UK in 1933 under the Agricultural Marketing Act. Its function was greatly reduced upon the deregulation of the milk industry in 1993 and was completely dissolved in 2002 (England) and 2003 (Scotland).
This is a medium-expanding briefcase with two internal pockets of equal size. It is extremely sturdy with no thining and is ready for regular use or even as an attractive display item. It could take a small notebook.
Both buckles and straps are in excellent condition as is the leather handle. There is no key to the polished brass clasp lock. Opens and closes as it should.
The surface has been refurbished and there are visible brush marks suggesting that colour "enrichment" has been part of the process.
