If you fancy a "new age" non- mechanical Seamaster then this could be your choice!
The introduction of quartz movements all but killed off the old mechanical watch industry. They were accurate, reliable, required little maintenance and didn't need winding up!
This slimline Seamaster of 1985 is a fine example of the new generation of quartz watches from Omega. It has a gold-plated case with a stainless steel snap-fit case-back. The elegant dial has very fine applied gold hour batons topped in black. The slimline stick hands have luminous inserts. Sweep seconds hand. Printed in black are the Omega logo, Omega, Seamaster, Swiss made and the retailer H L Brown. Quick-set date at 3. The date changes automatically at midnight and can easily be adjusted. Simply pull out the crown 1 stop and rotate it clockwise untill the desired date is displayed. There is some slight discouloration to the right-hand-side of the dial.
The retailer HL Brown still operates today in Sheffield. They have a long and distinguished history dating back to 1861. Click here to read their story.
The case is in good condition with a little rubbing to the gold plate on the lugs. Original crown with the Omega logo. The case-back has the hypocanthus and is marked Seamaster Quartz. On the inside of the case-back it is fully marked Omega including the model number.
The watch is run by the Omega calibre 1430 quartz movement which has had a new battery fitted.
It also has a new black non-Omega strap.
