An Omega Seamster from 1953 with superb patina on the dial.
This is a geat example of an early classic Seamaster. Developed by Omega as a consequence of their success in producing military watches during WW11, the Seamaster was advertised as "The Watch For The Active Man".
The dial has an attractive even patina generated over the past 70 years. Applied stainless steel arrowhead hour batons with the remants of the original luminous material at their base. Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 in glorious Breguet style. Each has a tiny square of luminous material apart from 12 which has two squares. Fine circle with minute indexes. Siver Dauphine hands with black insets. Sweep seconds hand. Original Seamster crown.
The case is in excellent condition. There are no significant dinks, just micro scratches from normal use. The screw-on case-back is fully marked Omega on the inside.
Inside is a very clean example of the Omega calibre 354. This is an automatic "bumper" that generates its power from wrist movement when the watch is worn. Runs well and keeps excellent time.
The watch comes with a used tan leather strap. Super quality from the renowned Italian shoemaker Vero Cuoio.
