Produced during WW11 this is a good example of a simple utility watch produced for the British military and issued to Civil Service officials, operating in the Indian territories. Extremely robust in construction and where utility has trumpted aesthetics.
Typical of this period, the diameter of the watch excluding the crown is 30.7mm. The average classic Seamaster is about 34.5mm. So it's a small watch by todays standards and ideally suits a smaller wrist.
The stainless steel case is in good condition with no dinks or significant scratches. Its sturdy lugs principle would go on to feature in the later Seamaster. The stainless steel case-back is screw fitted and fully marked Omega on the inside including the marking CS(1)
The dial has aged to display a greyish, even patina. Blued steel leaf hands. Black print for all the indexes, numbers and script. Marked Omega and Swiss Made. There is no Omega logo on the crown but that was normal during this period.
Inside the Omega 26.5 T3 movement is in pristine condition and runs really well.
The watch comes with a new black leather non-Omega strap.
